With Vottelauget (The Mitten Guild) Tori Seierstad and Judith Nilsen have published the Norwegian mitten book “Eventyrvotter” (Fairy Tale Mittens). In this class they teach the participants to work the cuff of Tori’s mitten design “A taste of Muhu”. These colourful mittens are inspired by the knitting patterns and colours of Muhu, Estonia. The mittens can be worked with six to eight different colours, and participants will be able to choose their yarn in the class. Different decorative braids on the cuff will be taught. The tutors will explain the rest of the mitten construction to ensure the participants are able to finish their mittens afterwards.

Skill level: must be able to knit in two colours in circular knitting.

Materials: Enough yarn will be provided to complete your own pair of mittens. Please bring DPNs or two circular needles, to give gauge 33 sts and 38 rows to 10cm in stranded colourwork, scissors, two stitch markers, and a sewing needle.
