Learn about the traditional Shetland lace hap construction where the hap is knitted from the outside towards the centre. You will be guided through knitting a mini hap using this technique. There will be examples of haps on display for you to study.

Homework: For homework you will be asked to knit a lace edging for the mini hap. You will need one ball of wool yarn (e.g. 25g) in a fingering or lace weight and needles size 4.0 mm, 4.25 mm or 4.5 mm (either DPNs or circular). You will be emailed well in advance with the instructions.

Skill level: Participants should be able to knot stocking stitch and should be familiar with basic lace knitting stitches such as YO, K2Tog.
