Dates you need to know for SWW 2020!

Spring hasn’t quite sprung in Shetland, but we’re looking forward to its arrival, the first signs of lighter, longer days; flowers coming into bloom; and the shedding of winter layers. Whilst we don’t relish saying goodbye to our winter woollies, it’s an opportunity to wear lighter knitwear. And being in Shetland, we’re never too far from needing to reach for a knitted hat.

Of course, March heralds a key month for us, as this is when we announce our new SWW Patron and their hat pattern.

We’ve seen it and we’re super-excited to share it with you.

The eleventh Shetland Wool Week is due to take place from 26 September and already a huge amount of effort has gone into preparing for the event.  However, in light of the coronavirus pandemic, the event remains under review. The organisers will continue to monitor the situation and hope to make an announcement in June on the future of this year’s festival.
